The two year olds take centre stage at Newmarket this afternoon, where there are three Group races for the juveniles.
Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes
First up is the Royal Lodge and a trio of non-runners has made this a far less attractive betting heat for each way punters.
The win only option looks to be ARTHUR KITT, who impressed when taking the Chesham at Royal Ascot. He was doing all of his best work at the end of that contest and also looked ready for this step up in trip when second in the Solario behind the outstanding Too Darn Hot.
If there is to be a surprise then either Mohawk or DUKE OF HAZZARD could spring it. Of the two, we slightly prefer the latter who looks a really strong stayer over this trip, so the stiff finish should play to his strengths.

Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes
Next up are the fillies in the Cheveley Park and the two to concentrate on here are LADY KAYA and SO PERFECT.
Lady Kaya has been a strong traveller in recent contests over 7f so this slight drop in trip should play to her strengths.
Meanwhile, So Perfect could prove the pick of the Aiden O’Brien trio. She is still improving and should be suited by the decent ground.

Lady Kaya (ew) | 2.25 Newmarket | 15/2 | Bet365 |
So Perfect (ew) | 2.25 Newmarket | 8/1 | Bet365 |

Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes
The Middle Park is at 3.00pm and as long as eight go to post EMARAATY ANA looks a great each way option. He won the Gimcrack at York last time out and has a major chance of making the frame at least, albeit that hot favourite, Ten Sovereigns, could be hard to beat.

bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap
The day’s big betting heat is the Cambridgeshire and, with over thirty runners heading to post, the winner will likely need lots of luck in running and to be drawn on the right side of the track.
Not surprisingly we had a pretty long shortlist for the race including the Godolphin pair of Mountain Hunter and Very Talented.
MOUNTAIN HUNTER ran well on his return to action, following a spring in Meydan, when an unlucky fifth last time out. That effort should have put him spot on for this, while VERY TALENTED was a well backed winner on his comeback from a lengthy absence that saw him off the track since he was third in this race in 2016.
John Gosden has an equally powerful hand and of his trio of runners we like TRICORN the best. Hopefully, his very high draw will be a plus and he looks likely to be suited by an extra furlong here. He seems to be running into form based on his second at Chelmsford last time out.
The last one to back is UAE PRINCE, who is dropping back in trip here. He is a strong traveller, so that looks a good move, and he has first time cheekpieces on him today to help him go through with his finishing effort.
Of the big outsiders, course specialist Via Via makes most appeal for the in form James Tate and race sponsors Bet365 are offering 8 places for each-way bets.

Mountain Hunter (ew) | 3.40 Newmarket | 40/1 | Bet365 |
Very Talented (ew) | 3.40 Newmarket | 16/1 | Bet365 |

Smarkets Handicap
The big betting heat at Haydock is the Smarkets Handicap at 3.15pm over five furlongs.
The ground is riding softer at the Merseyside track and that give underfoot will certainly suit AEOLUS. He is arguably the class horse in the race and ran well last time out in first time blinkers before fading in the latter stages over 6½f.
The bottom weight, MILITIA, is also dropping back in trip having shown plenty of speed over 6f recently. As a three year old, he could have more improvement in him than many of his rivals.
