Another huge week awaits the House of Commons as squabbling MPs attempt to find a consensus over the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union.
With events moving at pace it’s impossible to get a clear picture of what might happen from one day to the next, but the bookmakers have got all possibilities covered.
Betfred are offering 11/10* that the actual date of departure will be between April and June 2019 and 6/1* that it will be between the start of July and the end of the year.
Saturday’s mass ‘Put it to the People’ demonstration and the popularity of the ‘Revoke Article 50’ petition have given Remain campaigners renewed optimism and some firms have trimmed the price of a second referendum.
However, you can still get 9/4* with Paddy Power that there will be a ‘People’s Vote’, while the same firm is offering 5/2 that Article 50 will indeed be revoked.
There are many other connected markets, including next prime minister and next Conservative leader, while it wouldn’t be a surprise to see betting on another General Election opened before the week is out.
