At the foot of the Premier League Swansea City are now as short as 1/5 to be relegated after a run of eight defeats and only one win in their last 11 games. Saturday’s home draw with Crystal Palace left them four points from safety as they continue their search for a new manager following last week’s sacking of Paul Clement. West Brom, who stretched their club record winless run to 17 games in their 3-1 defeat at Stoke, are at Evens with Bet365, Paddy Power & Coral for the drop while Bournemouth, who complete the bottom three heading into Christmas, are 5/2 with both Paddy Power and Betfred.
Stoke, Newcastle and Brighton all scrambled away from the relegation zone with important victories on Saturday, but Southampton are in danger of being dragged in after another disappointing result against Huddersfield. The Saints, who have won only one of their last 10 league games, were forced to leave Virgil Van Dijk out of their line-up amid speculation that he will be sold when the transfer window opens at the start of January. From 14/1, they have been cut to a best price of 11/1 with Paddy Power in the relegation market.
