Tiger Roll is the firm favourite to win this weekend’s Grand National at Aintree and become the first horse to win the race in successive years since Red Rum in 1974.
Jockey Davy Russell landed odds of 10/1 on Tiger Roll for trainer Gordon Elliott in last year’s race, but this time around he is the 7/2 favourite across the board.
The bookmakers will be keen to avoid a repeat victory, but will take heart from the fact that no market leader has won the race since Don’t Push It in 2010. Should he win, Tiger Roll will be the shortest-priced winner of the Grand National in more than a century.
It’s the biggest day of the year for the bookies, who will be keen to attract and retain new customers ahead of what promises to be a frantic end to the football season, with four Premier League teams competing in the quarter-finals of the Champions League just a few days later.
With that in mind, be sure to sift through the vast array of special offers and free bets that will be widely available towards the end of the week.
