Watford were widely tipped for relegation at the start of the season but they will go into the international break boasting a 100% record following Sunday’s 2-1 win over Tottenham.
The Hornets, who fought back from a goal down to earn their fifth win from five games in all competitions, are now a best price of 5/4* with Bet365 to finish the campaign in the top half, in from 7/1 on the eve of the season.
With 12 points on the board, they are out to 16/1* with Bet365 in the Premier League relegation betting, from 9/4 a month ago.
Their start to the new season is in marked contrast to how they ended last term, when they won only one of their last nine games, losing six times.
That poor run of results, matched by the nature of their performances, under the guidance of Javi Gracia is why many experts predicted they would struggle.
However, they will return to Premier League action in a fortnight’s time with their confidence soaring. Manchester United visit Vicarage Road on September 15th, with Gracia’s men then visiting Fulham and Arsenal before the end of the month.
