Both sides are fighting for second place in Group B, with both having been beaten by PSG – Celtic losing 5-0 at home and Bayern going down 3-0 in Paris.

However, they both beat Anderlecht 3-0 and perhaps this game will be a little closer that the odds suggest – Bayern are just 1/8, while Celtic can be backed at 30/1 with Betfair and the draw at 12/1 with Unibet.

Bayern have only won three of their last six games in the Bundesliga (D2, L1) and could just be vulnerable while they readjust to Jupp Heynckes at the helm – with Carlo Ancelotti departing after that defeat in Paris.

It is hard to judge Celtic based upon domestic form, but it’s worth noting that Brendan Rodger’s side drew 1-1 against Borussia Monchengladbach when they last visited Germany, in the group stage last season, and also drew 1-1 away at Man City.

So, let’s take a punt on another 1-1 here at stand-out odds of 22/1 with Betfair.

Mousssa Dembele scored 3 Champions League goals for Celtic last season and, if he starts here, odds of 17/1 with Unibet on the French striker to score first look huge.

However, on the basis that the in-form Leigh Griffiths is likely to start ahead of him, we’ll recommend a bet on him at 16/1 – also with Unibet.

Robert Lewandowski is just 2/1 to score first for the hosts and at the prices we prefer Thiago – who scored twice against Arsenal here last season – each way at 9/1.

Benfica v Manchester United

United top Group A after winning both of their opening group games, while Benfica have lost both their games – including a 1-2 defeat here to Spartak Moscow.

In short, there is nothing to suggest anything other than another win for Jose Mourinho’s side and the best odds of 5/6 with Bet365 look well worth taking.

Romelu Lukaku may not have had much of a sniff against Liverpool at the weekend, but he has scored three goals in those two group games so far and can be backed at 26/25 to score a goal here with Unibet (odds-on with all other bookmakers).

Finally, let’s go for 1-0 and 2-0 away wins – at best odds of 13/2 and 8/1 respectively.

Chelsea v Roma

Chelsea have won both of their opening Group C games, but they need to overcome a recent dip in form which has seen them lose their last two Premier League games.

Roma sit second in the group (W1, D1) and had won four consecutive domestic league games before going down 1-0 to Serie A league leaders Napoli on Saturday.

Chelsea are 8/13 favourites at Betfair, with Roma available at 51/10 with Unibet and the draw at 17/5 with BetVictor and that last price offers most appeal.

Last season Roma were undefeated in the group stage, before knocking out Villeareal, eventually going out to Lyon in the Last 16 and they could be hard to beat.

Edin Dzeko is one of 30 players to be nominated for this year’s Ballon D’Or and the former Man City striker has scored seven goals in Roma’s last six league games.

You can back him at a stand-out price of 13/5 with Unibet to score a goal at any time of this game at Stamford Bridge (he’s as short as 13/10 elsewhere).

For Chelsea, we recommend backing Eden Hazard in the same market at a stand-out price of 9/5, also with Unibet (Bet365 are offering just 21/20).

Finally, let’s go for a 1-1 Correct Score at best odds of 7/1 with Bet365, who also refund losing Correct Score bets on all games that end 0-0.
