Tottenham earned a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu a fortnight ago and look set to be boosted by the return of Harry Kane, who was sorely missed in their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.

But Real are favourites at Wembley at best odds of 5/4 with Betfred, while Spurs can be backed at 23/10 with Stan James and the draw at 27/10 with Betfair.

The European Champions also suffered a league defeat at the weekend, going down 2-1 at Girona on Sunday, but have won all of their away games so far this season – including at Borussia Dortmund in this Group H.

Tottenham look to be adjusting to their temporary home, with consecutive wins over Bournemouth & Liverpool, but still don’t have a great record here at Wembley and the ‘odds against’ available on the European Champions are just too tempting.

While Spurs deserved their draw at the Bernabeu, their hosts dominated possession and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will struggle if they allow Ronaldo and co. the same amount of time on the ball on this big Wembley pitch.

Gareth Bale won’t be fit to face his old club, but Luka Modric will and the midfielder is worth an each-way bet at 22/1 with Bet365 to open the scoring on Wednesday.

The aforementioned Ronaldo scored a penalty, hit the post and was denied by a world class save from Hugo Lloris in Madrid. He has now scored 15 goals in his last 8 Champions League appearances and is 10/11 with Unibet to score yet another here.

Let’s also back him at 4/1 ‘To Score 2 or More’ goals and 19/1 to score a hat-trick.

City won the reverse fixture 2-1 in Manchester two weeks ago, with the visitors missing a penalty, and Pep Guardiola’s side are 8/5 favourites here with Stan James.

But Napoli are flying high at the top of Serie A (W10, D1) and the key here could be their respective motivations – with City all but secure in the Last 16 already, while Napoli really need to win this to keep their hopes of progressing alive.

The Italians have scored 18 goals in 6 games at the Stadio San Paolo this season and we think that they can end City’s unbeaten start to the season at 9/5 with Betfair.

Dries Mertens scored 5 Champions League goals for Napoli last season and has scored in six of their seven home games so far this season – back the Belgian to score once again at a huge looking price of 31/20 with Unibet (odds-on elsewhere).

Odds of 60/1 with Coral on Maribor, reflect the fact that Liverpool won the reverse fixture in Slovenia 7-0 a fortnight ago, with the Reds just 1/16 favourites at Anfield.

But with Jurgen Klopp certain to use a number of fringe players for this game, we don’t think another record breaking beating is on the cards here on Wednesday.

The Slovenians lost their other Group E away game 3-0 in Seville – and a repeat of that scoreline looks reasonable at 6/1 with Betfair, as does their 13/2 for the 4-0.

Wait until the team news is available before placing any Goalscorer bets – but if he starts James Milner, who should take any penalties, appeals at 11/5 to score.
