David Moyes begins the task of attempting to revive West Ham’s fortunes with a trip to Vicarage Road this weekend, with the Hammers 5/2 with BetVictor to be relegated. The former Everton and Manchester United manager, who was unable to save Sunderland from the drop last season, was appointed until the end of the current campaign after Slaven Bilic was sacked in the wake of the 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool, which extended their winless run in the Premier League to four matches and left them languishing in 18th place.
Moyes has a few weeks to get to know his new squad, starting with Sunday’s game against Watford, before a run of games in December that could potentially leave the Hammers even deeper in the mire. After a trip to Manchester City on December 3rd, they face Chelsea and Arsenal at the London Stadium in the space of five days. After a trip to Tottenham on New Year’s Eve, the light at the end of the tunnel could be provided by a run of games against their immediate rivals at the foot of the table in the New Year.
