Wolves amassed 99 points as they won the Championship title last season and the club assisted by the super-agent Jorge Mendes are strongly fancied to do well in the Premier League in the coming campaign.
Mendes helped the Molineux club to tie up deals for the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Willy Boly last summer and has been busy once again bringing some eye-catching talent to add to a squad that already looks well-equipped for the top flight. Goalkeeper Rui Patricio, who until Saturday evening was starring at the World Cup for Portugal, will provide a further boost to a rearguard that conceded only 39 goals last season, while imposing central defender Boly has turned his loan move into a permanent deal.
Neves is also on the verge of signing a new contract, while the bustling Mexico striker Raul Jimenez has moved to the Black Country on loan from Benfica.
Newcastle claimed 10th place in the Premier League on 44 points despite being threatened by relegation for much of last season, while the other promoted clubs Brighton and Huddersfield also stayed up. Wolves look stronger than all three and are 11/10* with William Hill to earn a top-half finish.
